(a) Approve an ordinance to amend the City of San José’s contract with the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) to allow employees hired on or after November 4, 2014 in certain Unit 99 classifications in the Office of Retirement Services to enroll in CalPERS retirement benefits.
(b) Approve an ordinance amending Section 3.49.030 of Chapter 3.49 of Title 3 of the San José Municipal Code, the California Defined Contribution Plan for Unit 99 Employees, to exclude employees hired on or after November 4, 2014 in certain Unit 99 classifications in the Office of Retirement Services from membership, effective July 26, 2020.
