Airport On-Demand Ground Transportation Management.
...Recommendations
(a) Adopt a resolution authorizing the City Manager to:
(1) Negotiate and execute an Agreement with Safer LLC for Airport On-Demand Ground Transportation Management at Mineta San José International Airport effective April 1, 2021, for a two-year term with 3 one-year options to extend at the sole discretion of the City; and
(2) Negotiate and execute a lease agreement with Safer LLC as deemed necessary by the Director of Aviation for office and vehicle staging to support its operations at the Airport.
(b) Approve an ordinance amending San José Municipal Code Chapter 25.08 to eliminate the requirement for on-demand taxicab company and driver Airport access permits and authorize the Director of Aviation to re-institute the on-demand taxicab company and driver Airport access permit requirements, including the 300 permit cap, in the event that efficient airport operations, passenger service needs and the public interest require a limitation on the number of on-demand ground transportation providers at the Airport.
